More than three decades of orthopedic care.

Dr. Pramod Srivastava has spent more than 30 years caring for orthopedic patients in the Central Valley. His work has centered on helping people recover from injuries, manage joint pain, regain function, and return to the routines that matter most — whether that means walking without pain, getting back to work, caring for family, or staying active later in life.

He provides care for a wide range of orthopedic conditions, with particular experience in knee replacement, rotator cuff repair, arthroscopic surgery, workers’ compensation injuries, and orthopedic trauma. Over the course of his career, he has treated patients of many ages and backgrounds, including those recovering from fractures, work-related injuries, sports injuries, and long-term joint problems.

His approach is direct, thoughtful, and conservative when appropriate. Surgery is not the first step for every patient. Dr. Srivastava believes treatment should begin with a clear diagnosis, a careful conversation, and a plan that makes sense for the patient’s condition, lifestyle, and goals.

“Good orthopedic care means restoring pain-free, optimal function of the limbs and joints.”

A founder’s commitment to the Central Valley.

Dr. Srivastava has lived in Bakersfield since 1991 and began practicing orthopedic surgery in 1992. In 1997, he founded the practice that would become Joint & Bone Institute of California, building it around a simple but important goal: to make dependable orthopedic care more accessible to patients throughout the Central Valley.

As Chairman and Lead Orthopedic Surgeon, he continues to help shape the standard of care across JBI. His vision is that every patient should be treated with respect, urgency, and careful attention — not just to relieve pain, but to help them return to a life that feels functional, independent, and full.

Today, Joint & Bone Institute of California serves patients across three locations in Bakersfield, Delano, and Porterville, continuing the same mission that guided the practice from the beginning: provide skilled orthopedic care close to home.

Experienced care for injuries, joints, and recovery.

Dr. Srivastava’s practice includes both surgical and non-surgical orthopedic care. He is especially known for his work with rotator cuff repairs, knee replacements, trauma care, workers’ compensation cases, and arthroscopic procedures.

For patients with shoulder injuries, knee arthritis, fractures, or work-related orthopedic problems, his goal is to explain the condition clearly and outline realistic treatment options. Whenever possible, he considers conservative care first. When surgery is needed, he helps patients understand the reason for the procedure, what recovery may involve, and how the care team will support them through the process.

Patients should leave his office feeling heard, informed, and confident about the next step.

Leadership at JBI.

As Chairman and Lead Orthopedic Surgeon, Dr. Srivastava plays a central role in the clinical direction of Joint & Bone Institute of California. His leadership is rooted in the belief that orthopedic care should be both highly skilled and deeply personal.

That means timely access, clear communication, careful follow-up, and treatment plans that focus on the whole patient — not just an X-ray or MRI. For Dr. Srivastava, the measure of success is not only a technically sound procedure, but a patient who can return to daily life with better comfort, mobility, and function.

Connected to the community.

Outside of medicine, Dr. Srivastava remains active in the Bakersfield community. He has participated in local events, including the Bakersfield Marathon, and has been involved in efforts to provide meals for people experiencing homelessness.

Away from the clinic and operating room, he enjoys ping pong, chess, and sports — and is especially a fan of cricket.

Experienced orthopedic care, close to home.
